You Know School is Almost Out....
when it is time for field trips. Today was Sam's 1st grade trip. It always amazes me when the schools go to Mt Rushmore...as if the kids who live in this area have not been there at least 10 times already. We go every time we have company so I have long ago lost track of how many times we have seen it. It was a beautiful day though and that was worth getting out for! We hit Mt Rushmore first thing, we did the President walk (a horribly grueling trek by the way!),and then got a snack in the little cafe. Then headed to Canyon Lake Park for lunch and play. The wind kicked in about halfway through the day so the kids got to fly kites. I am amazed we did not have someone fall in the water...those boys were getting pretty close to getting wet!

Let's See if This Works...
So running a business has put me a little behind the learning curve when it comes to all the new fangled things like posting to youtube or having a myspace page...I just have never gotten into it. I think it is a generational thing and it's pretty sad when you realize it's the "younger" generation doing these things and you are no longer included in that group! Anyway, I took some videos at testing the other day so I could send Allen some peeks at the event. I sat down that night to figure out how to upload a video and send him the link. Well...I was able to do that and today I found this thing that said "embed" with some code behind it so let's see if that means I can embed the video in my blog code.....

Testing Day
All of the boys got to test today. It is so hard on a mom! I know that the instructors only want to make them better but they really put them through quite the test...mentally and physically. At one point I could see Alec's eyes getting a little weepy when he was put on the spot. He survived and I have to remember this only makes him stronger. Jake and Alec got their red belts and will be doing their black belt pre testing sometime in the next year. Sam got his green belt and hopefully some motivation to stop goofing around at practice.

New Baby Announcements
Thought I would play around with some brushes I found. I will be putting these templates up for sale shortly. Thanks Rayna (Ray of Light Photography) for the beautiful photos!
Under The Sea Party
Alden's birthday was a great success. The decorations were soooo cute! The kids had a blast climbing on the inflatable alligator and tons of food! Unfortunately, at the end of the day we had to say goodbye to Trace. He leaves for his next assigment in the morning. Darn Air Force life!!! We all look forward to meeting up again in Hawaii this winter!

Today's Bribe?
McDonalds! I could not pass up this beautiful day to get some shots. Yes, they have to be bribed. All of a sudden as soon as Mom wanted them to pose, they did not want to get dirty or did not want to sit on a pinecone or the ground was too hard....I heard every excuse. Had I not wanted to take pictures, they would have been all over that place...throwing pinecones, rolling on the ground and getting themselves as dirty as they possibly could. Would someone loan me their kids for some practice?

Some Cute Friends...
I spent a couple hours Sunday with these cuties! They are good friends from a previous base and had not seen each other since they were three and are not just living one state apart. They were so cute and a lot of fun to photograph...

A Little Creativity
We are getting snow. I am tired of being inside. The grass is starting to turn green and I want so badly to get out and and do some photos! Alas, I am stuck in here, in front of the computer, so I decided to put some creative energy to work. The first is a simple storyboard I made and just sent to have printed on 5x10 with styrene back. The second is the birthday invited I did for Dannie's daughter's birthday. I may use today and tomorrow to work on some more card templates for the site.
